“It is
unreasonable to expect that people will change their behavior so
easily when so many forces in the social, cultural, and physical
environment conspire against change.”

Approach to Change
One of the exciting things about DELTA
is we are able to use the social ecological model as a framework for
our approach. People’s lives and actions are complex and have many
influences. The social ecological model says that our efforts will
be most effective if we address individual issues as well as the
pressures from relationships, community groups, government systems
and social norms. In order to end domestic violence we need to
address how all of these levels of influence contribute.
