The Iowa Coalition Against Domestic Violence relies on the support and partnership of community members and businesses to ensure we have the funding to continue the vital work of preventing and ending domestic violence in Iowa. As well, there are opportunities for individuals and groups to lend their time and expertise to the organization through various volunteer and internship opportunities. Please contact donate@icadv.org and volunteer@icadv.org for more information.
Prevention
Often, communities feel as if they are pulling domestic violence victims out of a river just before they reach a dangerous waterfall. As each young woman is abused and seeks help they reach in and pull them out. But, eventually there are too many young women in the river and the advocates cannot reach them all. Focusing on prevention allows us as a community to move up stream and stop them from being pushed into the river in the first place. Your donation to ICADV ensures we are able to continue the work of preventing domestic violence in Iowa. If you have any questions about how your donation impacts prevention programming, please feel free to contact our prevention coordinator.
Training
Your donations to ICADV enable us to provide the vital training and technical assistance to direct service member programs and advocates across the state of Iowa. Your support enables ICADV to provide training, offset transportation, food, and meeting costs to our member programs, and retain experienced staff. If you are interested in participating in any ICADV training opportunities, contact training@icadv.org for more information.
Volunteer
If you have time or expertise we would love to have your help. We are frequently looking for people to lead healthy relationship classes, lead a webinar, design posters and materials, write sample letter to the editors and much more. Check VolunteerMatch for opportunities to help ICADV.
