| “One in four college women have survived rape or attempted rape. Statistics can change, men can help.” |

Higher education’s job is to teach. At this critical juncture in young men’s lives, now is the time to teach men that it is not acceptable to hurt women and girls. They must be actively engaged in creating an environment where everyone is free from the fear and reality of violence. While they are in a state of mind and in a place that encourages and requires learning, we can influence their understanding of masculinity as it relates to the roles they play in violence prevention.
What you can do:
- Educate yourself and colleagues about the necessity to make the campus community safer for all
- Incorporate violence prevention into your work on campus
- Support campus based services for victims as well as programming in violence prevention
