Domestic Violence Awareness Month

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month (DVAM), a time for all Iowans to come together, recognize and support the stories and experiences of individuals who have been impacted by intimate partner violence.

Domestic violence is a public health issue with serious consequences for individuals, families and communities. We must use our collective strength and work together to support survivors.

This year’s theme, Community Support + Action = Social Change, is an invitation to do your part and support survivors in your community. You can do this through awareness activities, community organizing, resource sharing, attending our 2nd Annual Dia de los Muertos Tribute, or volunteering with your local victim service program.
